Job Description

Minimum Qualifications Trade Tested Millwright or Mechanical Fitter OR BTech Mechanical Engineering Minimum Experience Required 610 years experience in heavy manufacturing environments Proven progression from artisan/technical level into supervisory or management roles Experience in refrigeration panels, insulation panels, steel fabrication, or related industrial manufacturing advantageous Strong plant optimisation and troubleshooting experience Exposure to boiler systems, plant equipment, and production machinery Demonstrated experience improving plant efficiency and reducing production costs Key Responsibilities 🔹 Production Management Oversee daily plant operations and production schedules Ensure production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are achieved Monitor output performance and implement corrective measures where necessary Drive operational efficiency to increase throughput and reduce downtime 🔹 Plant & Equipment Optimisation Identify mechanical and process bottlenecks Troubleshoot recurring equipment failures and implement permanent solutions Improve machine performance, reliability, and uptime Oversee preventative maintenance schedules Work closely with maintenance teams on plant upgrades and improvements 🔹 Boiler & Utilities Oversight Ensure boilers and plant utilities operate safely and efficiently Implement energy-saving and cost-reduction initiatives Improve overall plant performance through technical enhancements 🔹 Continuous Improvement Lead process improvement initiatives to speed up production Reduce waste and minimise operational costs Introduce lean manufacturing principles where applicable Develop measurable KPIs to track plant improvement 🔹 Leadership & Mentorship Manage production staff and supervisors Mentor artisans and operators Build a high-performance, accountable production culture Lead by example through hands-on plant involvement 🔹 Cost & Outcome Management Manage production budgets and operational expenditure Improve profitability through process optimisation Focus on measurable production outcomes Key Competencies Strong mechanical and plant knowledge Solution-driven mindset Analytical and problem-solving ability Assertive leadership style Results-oriented and performance-driven Strong people management skills Ability to work under pressure in a high-output environment
