Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Pretoria, South Africa

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects from the initial estimate through to the final bills of quantities. The Quantity Surveyor will also be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the client’s satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
– Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
– Control costs throughout the project, ensuring they are kept within budget
– Prepare bills of quantities and tender documents
– Negotiate and agree on final accounts with contractors
– Evaluate subcontractor applications for payment
– Provide advice on contractual matters
– Monitor and report on project progress and costs

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor
– Knowledge of construction methods and materials
– Strong analytical and numerical skills
– Excellent communication and negotiation skills
– Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
– Proficiency in computer software such as Excel, AutoCAD, and MS Office
– Professional registration with a relevant body is preferred
