About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Pretoria, responsible for ensuring accurate cost management and control on construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets
- Prepare and manage cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost-to-complete projections
- Track variations, claims, and site instructions
- Contract Administration: assist in the administration of contracts in accordance with JBCC / relevant building contracts
- Prepare interim payment certificates and final accounts
- Evaluate subcontractor claims and ensure accurate certification
- Procurement Support: assist with sourcing and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and evaluate tender documentation and pricing comparisons
- Negotiate rates and ensure cost-effective procurement
- Site Coordination: work closely with site managers, project managers, and subcontractors to attend site meetings and provide input on financial and contractual matters
- Ensure alignment between site progress and financial reporting
Requirements
- Degree / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field
- 3 – 6 years’ experience in a Site QS role within construction or property development
- Strong knowledge of JBCC contracts and construction processes
- Proven experience in cost control, subcontractor management, and site-based QS functions
- Proficient in MS Excel and relevant QS / estimating software
