Are you a detail-oriented Commercial Underwriter ready to take the next step in your career? Join our reputable Short Term Insurance client in Roodepoort and play a key role in assessing and managing commercial risks across diverse portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, underwrite, and manage a wide range of commercial risks for new and renewal business
- Prepare quotes, endorsements, and policy amendments to meet client and company needs
- Engage directly with brokers and clients to gather information and negotiate terms
- Ensure all policies comply with underwriting guidelines, regulatory frameworks, and company standards
- Proactively manage renewals, cancellations, and endorsements promptly
- Analyze claims histories, exposure data and make recommendations to mitigate risk and enhance profitability
- Support business retention and client satisfaction by fostering strong professional relationships
- Stay updated on industry trends and recommend appropriate modifications to policies as risks evolve
Requirements
- Matric certificate
- 5+ years experience in Commercial Underwriting, including HCV, Multi Mark III, endorsements
- Full FAIS accreditation
- RE 5
- Stable work history (essential)
