About the Role

The Shaft Timberman role at Skillnet Recruitment in Rustenburg requires a skilled individual to join our team as a key member of the underground mining operations. As a Shaft Timberman, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of shaft equipment and support systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily inspections and pre-start checks on equipment.
  • Maintain shaft equipment, safety devices, and accessories to required standards.
  • Install, maintain, and repair shaft support systems.
  • Adhere to Mine Health & Safety Act requirements.
  • Assist with shaft equipping and related activities.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of underground mining practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams.
  • Familiarity with safety, health, and environmental legislation.
  • Medically fit.
  • No criminal record.
