About the Role

We’re looking for a highly experienced and meticulous Key Individual to manage and oversee our Financial Services Provider (FSP) operations under a Category II licence in Sandton, South Africa. This pivotal role ensures full compliance with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act, upholding the integrity and operational effectiveness of our financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all statutory obligations, rules, and codes of conduct set by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), particularly the FAIS Act and its Fit and Proper Requirements.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports to the FSCA.
  • Oversee the FSP’s financial management, including maintaining financial soundness requirements and ensuring all levies and professional indemnity (PI) cover are up to date.
  • Exercise executive control and supervision over all financial services rendered by the FSP and its authorised representatives.
  • Ensure representatives maintain their “fit and proper” status, including honesty, integrity, and competence, and adhere to the General Code of Conduct.
  • Monitor the advice and intermediary services provided, ensuring suitability and fair treatment of customers.
  • Implement and oversee robust business processes and operational capabilities to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of an undergraduate degree (NQF Level 7), preferably with honours, in Finance, Business, or Wealth Management.
  • Possession of a qualification recognised by the FSCA for Category II FSPs.
  • Regulatory Exams: Must hold valid RE1 certifications.
  • Experience: At least 2-5 years of management experience within an FSP.
  • Demonstrable experience managing discretionary financial services, such as shares, debentures, and securitised debt products (for Category II).
