About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team at MegChem, a leading chemical company in South Africa. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary projects throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery and compliance with contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multi-disciplinary projects assigned throughout their full lifecycle, which may include FEED, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning.
- Prepare quotations and tenders for prospective projects.
- Develop project execution plans aligned with contract requirements.
- Develop and review comprehensive quality management and control plans for projects.
- Oversee cash flow and manage project budgets effectively.
- Identify and appoint all necessary resources, including subcontracted services, for each project.
- Ensure effective coordination of all resources and functions to fulfil contract obligations.
- Manage project scheduling.
- Oversee project risk management.
- Ensure adherence to project quality and safety standards during execution.
- Comply with the Business Management System.
- Utilise MS Project, Primavera P6, and other relevant software systems proficiently.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
Requirements
- A minimum of a B.Eng or B.Tech degree in Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
- Project management certification would be advantageous.
- Engineer with 4 to 6 years’ experience, preferably with exposure to multi-disciplinary projects or engineering within the Chemical, Petrochemical, and Energy sectors.
- Experience working or contracting with refineries in South Africa is desirable.
- Familiarity with typical contracting frameworks (NEC 3 preferred), EPC, or EPCm.
- Proficient in MS Office. Experience with Revit and Inventor is essential.
- Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid Code B/EB driving licence.
