About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SHERQ Manager to join our client’s team in Secunda. As a seasoned professional with a proven track record in mining or mining services environments, you will be responsible for driving compliance, reducing risk, and embedding a strong safety culture across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all SHERQ functions across mining service operations
  • Ensure full compliance with MHSA, OHSA, and environmental regulations
  • Implement and maintain ISO systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
  • Drive risk management processes, including HIRA and mitigation plans
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and ensure continuous compliance
  • Compile and present SHERQ reports and performance metrics
  • Promote and embed a strong safety culture across sites
  • Manage contractor compliance and stakeholder engagement
  • Track KPIs such as LTIFR (Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate) and environmental performance
  • Develop and implement SHERQ training programs for employees and contractors
  • Ensure all engineering and mining processes meet quality standards and client specifications
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Safety / Environmental / Engineering or related field
  • SAMTRAC / NEBOSH / ISO Lead Auditor certification (essential)
  • Minimum 5 years SHERQ experience within mining or mining services
  • Strong working knowledge of MHSA, OHSA, and ISO standards
  • Proven track record managing audits and multi-site operations

  • Formal education/certifications in Safety, Environmental, Engineering or related field.
