About the Role
The Secunda Double Coded Welder will be responsible for carrying out coded welding on structural and pressure components, as well as inspecting, repairing, and maintaining ceramic-lined pulverised fuel (PF) hangers and supports.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out coded welding (double coded e.g., SMAW, GTAW, or FCAW as required) on structural and pressure components.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain ceramic-lined PF hangers and supports.
- Fabricate components according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Install PF hangers, supports, and related structures on-site.
- Ensure proper alignment, fitting, and securing of fabricated parts.
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections before, during, and after welding.
- Identify defects and perform necessary corrective actions.
- Work with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
Requirements
- Valid Welding Trade Test – double welding (e.g., 2 welding processes coded).
- Grade 12
- Proven experience in welding, fabrication, and installation within industrial or power plant environments.
- Experience working with ceramic-lined components and PF systems (advantageous).
