About the Role
Edgexec (Pty) Ltd is seeking a seasoned leader to helm our agency in Mozambique. As Agency Head/General Manager, you will be responsible for shaping growth, performance, and stakeholder confidence in a complex maritime environment. This senior leadership role carries full accountability for strategy, operations, commercial performance, and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute a business strategy aligned to financial and operational objectives
- Oversee end-to-end agency operations, including vessel schedules, cargo handling, and terminal coordination
- Drive commercial growth through customer engagement, partnerships, and market development
- Lead budgeting, cost control, and full P&L responsibility
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing local leadership team
- Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and health & safety regulations
- Represent the organisation with government bodies, regulators, and industry forums
- Champion sustainability initiatives and operational innovation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or maritime studies; MBA preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience in shipping, logistics, or maritime environments
- At least 5 years in a senior management or general management role
- Proven track record in operational optimisation and business growth
- Strong financial management capability with P&L ownership
- Confident leadership style with experience managing diverse, cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
