Job Description

Main goal Manage airfreight operations for Port Moresby branch as well as customer relationships in compliance with PNG legal requirements, Company goals and procedures, industry quality standards of the service while achieving revenue growth and maintaining customer satisfaction at the highest level. Reporting to the Freight Manager you will be responsible for: Manage import/export operations for airfreight cargo, set clear expectations to the team on processing targets, goals and compliance to applicable regulations and company procedures, ensure accurate records in the Company system, distribute tasks for effective execution, ensure control over Company assets Manage warehouse operations for bonded warehouse in line with safety expectations, maintain compliance with Customs/NAQIA requirements for Depot operators, ensure high level of inventory accuracy and Enable effective work of delivery team to provide smooth on-time delivery of air cargo to customers, monitor delivery schedule, arrange fleet maintenance, ensure drivers are qualified and trained as guided by regulations and the Company Train, coach and mentor team members on the import/export processes, Company systems, invoicing clients, customer service principles and other relevant topics/skills required to effectively execute job duties and meet KPIs Monitor on regular basis compliance with KPIs targets by the team and run system reports in order to analyse the results and drive improvements, if any, as well as report to management Control financials for airfreight operations, steward Profit & Loss report on a monthly basis within allocated budget and drive process adjustments if needed to achieve higher revenue, monitor bill-outs and bill-ins to be processed timely and in line with applicable terms and conditions Step in to assist customer service agents in resolution of complex import processing tasks or special client’s requests by coordinating freight processing end-to-end and enable effective interaction between internal business units for ex. brokerage, accounting, warehouse, delivery team etc. Provide professional advice on aspects of customs clearance in PNG, applicability of import/export permits, dangerous goods transportation requirements, domestic freight forwarding etc. and assist Sales Manager in participation in tenders and other client’s requests Support development, maintenance and execution of Company business growth strategies and continuously search for new business opportunities, conduct market studies as directed by management Build and maintain customer relationship, collect client’s feedback and build up business case for process changes if required.
