The opportunity
A leading logistics-fintech platform powering cross-border road transport is seeking an Area Sales Manager to own commercial growth while driving day-to-day operational excellence across service points and partner sites. The role blends sales execution with on-the-ground operations, compliance and people leadership to deliver sustainable volume, margin and service outcomes.
What youll do
- Translate strategic plans into area-level actions and targets; optimise site performance and customer service standards.
- Manage profitability: budgets, input costs, stock levels, cash-up accuracy; eliminate stock-outs and shrinkage.
- Execute sales and marketing plans locally; grow utilisation of corridors, products and services; run regular market visits and competitor checks.
- Support finance planning and cost-savings delivery; ensure audit readiness for internal and external audits.
- Embed compliance: partner with Legal/Compliance on licensing and regulatory frameworks; mitigate operating risks.
- Lead people: hire and develop high-calibre teams; drive a high-performance culture; manage misconduct/non-performance fairly and timely.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, service providers, customers and local stakeholders.
What youll bring
- BCom/Business-related degree (MBA advantageous).
- Valid passport and drivers licence.
- 5+ years in fast-paced, performance-driven environments across sales/logistics/operations/finance/business development/corporate affairs.
- Strong commercial acumen, budgeting discipline and negotiating ability; advanced written and verbal communication.
- Resilience, analytical strength and team leadership; proven conflict management and stakeholder engagement.
- Multi-language capability suited to the area.
Nice to have: Experience managing own and third-party branches/truck stops; designing service-level agreements and KPIs; familiarity with HSE standards.
Travel: Regular site/station visits across the area.
