About the Role
We are seeking a polished and hands-on Assistant General Manager to join our boutique hotel in Ballito, KZN. As part of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing daily operations, and supporting our General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in overseeing all daily operations
- Lead and guide the Hosts and supervisory team
- Ensure seamless, consistent delivery of a 5-star guest experience across all touchpoints
- Manage guest experience, requests, and service recovery with calm efficiency
- Maintain and uphold operational standards throughout the property
- Assist with cost control and stock management
- Support team development and on-the-job training
- Step in across departments where required
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in a senior operational role within a luxury boutique hotel or similar high-end property
- Proven ability to work across all departments (FOH, housekeeping, F&B, spa, reservations)
- Strong guest relations and service recovery skills
- Experience leading a small, close-knit team
- Familiarity with hotel management systems – Opera Cloud advantageous
- Computer literate with solid administrative ability
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required

- Formal education/certifications (if applicable)
Salary & Benefits
- Gross Salary: Up to R30,000 per month (based on experience)
- Contributions to Medical Aid and Provident Fund
- Live-out position (accommodation not included)
