Job Description

At Kendrick Recruitment, we are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Assistant Lodge Manager for a boutique 4* property in the Greater Kruger region. We are looking for someone who balances a deep passion for the natural environment with the organisational discipline required to run a high-end hospitality operation. This role is the engine of the lodge. You will support the General Manager in maintaining the systems and conditions that allow for an exceptional guest experience, ensuring that every detailfrom the welcome drink to the final farewellis executed with 5-star precision. The Package: This is a live-on-site position situated in a remote, pristine wilderness area: Basic Salary: R18,000 – R20;000 Benefits: On-site accommodation and meals provided. Cycle: Shift-based role requiring 21/3. Key Responsibilities Manage the entire guest journey, overseeingluxury service standards across all departments and coordinating external activities (helicopter rides, hot air balloons, etc.). Oversee F&B, Housekeeping, Front Office, and Maintenance; lead daily management meetings and ensure strict adherence to SOPs. Support the GM with budgeting, petty cash reconciliation, and inventory control. Collaborate with Reservations to maximise up-selling and ensure deposit security. Manage staffing levels, provide on-the-job training, and lead the team with a strong, professional presence. Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure infrastructure upkeep and effectively utilize lodge systems (ResRequest, Semper, or PANstrat). What Were Looking For We are seeking a solution-oriented leader who remains calm under pressure and possesses: A Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management with 5+ years in a senior management role within a luxury lodge setting. Proficiency in MS Office and specialized PMS/POS systems (e.g., ResRequest, PANstrat). A solid understanding of budgeting and cost control. Excellent communication skills in English (Afrikaans or local languages are an advantage) and a passion for people and conservation.
