Live-In Position (assumed in lodge environment) Short Description: Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Assistant Lodge Manager for a luxury lodge located within the Kruger National Park. This role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the Lodge Manager in the smooth and efficient running of all lodge operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing guest relations, staff supervision, financial administration, and maintaining the high operational standards expected within a five-star safari environment. Requirements: Minimum 4 years hospitality experience, including exposure to five-star lodge or hotel operations At least 2 years experience in an assistant management or trainee management capacity Strong Food & Beverage knowledge essential Solid financial and stock control experience Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills Strong attention to detail with a guest-centric mindset High level of computer literacy (MS Office essential) Understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures Ability to remain calm and solutions-focused under pressure Flexible, cooperative, and team-oriented approach South African citizenship or valid work visa Key Responsibilities: Assist the Lodge Manager with daily lodge operations and overall management Deliver exceptional, personalised guest experiences and service excellence Supervise, train, and support lodge staff across all departments Maintain housekeeping, maintenance, and grounds standards to luxury levels Oversee stock control, ordering, and financial administration processes Manage reception, concierge, and daily guest service administration Maintain and update guest databases to enhance personalised service Ensure all guest areas are immaculate and presentation-ready at all times Support conservation initiatives and communicate lodge purpose and values Assist with operational tasks across departments as required Candidate Profile: Strong, hands-on hospitality professional with leadership potential Calm, organised, and highly detail-driven Passionate about luxury safari hospitality and guest experience Strong communicator with a team-focused mindset Flexible, adaptable, and committed to operational excellence Please note that only suitable candidates will be contacted.
