Job Summary

The ideal candidate will embody a guest-centric mindset, a deep appreciation for the surrounding environment and community, and a strong commitment to service excellence. This role is key to upholding the lodge’s hospitality standards while supporting the overall success and sustainability of the operation.

Candidate Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily guest engagement to foster a culture centered around exceptional service.
  • Ensure smooth execution of all operational plans related to the guest experience.
  • Maintain and uphold brand and service standards across all departments.
  • Represent the lodge professionally at all times in both appearance and conduct.
  • Create a workplace culture that reflects the values of service, community, and environmental responsibility.
  • Support and implement internal reward and recognition programs.
  • Assist the Lodge Manager in planning and executing strategic goals and day-to-day operations.
  • Enforce systems and controls that ensure sustainability and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and inspire the team to uphold the lodge’s unique hospitality ethos.
  • Act as Lodge Manager during periods of leave or absence.
  • Host guests on alternating evenings and take lead on handling group bookings.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of the management team and lead by example.
  • Support communication and relationship-building with local government bodies.
  • Oversee operational stock ordering and procurement processes.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant management experience in a luxury lodge or 5-star hospitality setting.
  • Strong operational knowledge of lodge departments including front of house, housekeeping, and guest services.
  • Relevant hospitality or management qualifications are advantageous.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (additional languages beneficial).
  • Strong attention to detail and high personal standards.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Innovative thinking and a solutions-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in hospitality systems and general computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of luxury lodge service, including butler service and laundry operations.
  • Passionate about hospitality and delivering unforgettable guest experiences.
  • Confident, calm under pressure, and reliable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Willing to share knowledge and contribute to team development.
  • Presentable, professional, and energetic.
  • Approachable and collaborative team player.
