About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently searching for a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie for a world-renowned, understated luxury safari reserve in the Eastern Cape. The property operates across multiple intimate lodge and exclusive-use villa settings, with a strong focus on exceptional, personalised dining experiences for discerning international guests. This is a live-in position in a remote wilderness environment, ideal for a chef who is passionate about both high-quality cuisine and life in the African bush.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute dishes to the highest standard across all meal services
- Manage and maintain allocated section with precision and consistency
- Assist the Head Chef with menu preparation, special events and bush dining experiences
- Maintain strict hygiene, food safety and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Assist with stock control, food costing and waste reduction within your section
- Contribute positively to a small, close-knit kitchen team
Requirements
- Formal culinary qualification from a recognised institution
- Minimum 23 years Chef de Partie experience in a luxury lodge, hotel or fine dining environment
- Strong all-round kitchen skills across multiple sections
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP compliance
- Ability to work across breakfast, lunch, dinner and special dining events
- Team player with a positive, hands-on attitude
- Comfortable living and working in a remote bush environment
- Stable work history with contactable references
- Food portfolio advantageous
