Job Summary
Honeydew-Johannesburg
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in operation of machine
- Hands-on experience in the food or food packaging industry is essential
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting ability
- Familiarity with quality control standards and food safety protocol (FMS advantageous)
- Technical Aptitude
Responsibilities:
- Operate the flow wrap automatic packing machine to the required standards to ensure the smooth flow of production
- Set up the machine according to the specific product packaing requirements
- Perform regular checks and adjustments to ensure optimal machine perfomance
- Monitor product quality during the production and packaing process to ensure consistency
- Perform visual inspections and quality checks on packaged products
- Address any quality issues immediately, reporting them to the production manager
- Conduct routing preventative maintenance checks on the flow wrap machine to precent downtime
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues and work with production manager to resolve
- Coordinate with the production manager and support team for any major repairs or technical support
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment
- Adhere to company policies, procedures and industry regulations
- Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately
- Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and maintenance activities
- Document any issues, solutions, and adjustments made during the shift
- Work closely with the production tema to ensure timely product output
- Document all wastage
- Communicate with the production manager and warehouse team as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Organise and monitor casual labour where required
- Work with production manager to ensure all FMS and safety requirements are maintained at all times
