About the Role
Fusion Personnel is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading accounting, finance, and company secretarial functions, including annual audits and financial statements. You will oversee Accounts Payable, supplier reconciliations, and timely payments, as well as prepare management accounts, Board packs, and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead accounting, finance, and company secretarial functions, including annual audits and financial statements
- Oversee Accounts Payable, supplier reconciliations, and timely payments
- Prepare management accounts, Board packs, and support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Manage tax compliance (VAT, Income Tax, Dividends Tax, Carbon Tax, Royalty Tax) and liaise with auditors
- Maintain fixed asset and property registers, general ledger reconciliations, and intercompany accounts
- Act as bank signatory and manage insurance, lease agreements, and petty cash
- Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and accurate financial reporting
Requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting (post-articles experience advantageous)
- 3–5 years’ management experience in finance or accounting
- Strong knowledge of SA tax legislation and financial management practices
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; ERP experience (JDE preferred)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex projects
- Integrity, professionalism, and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
Qualifications
- Completed postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting
- Relevant management experience in finance or accounting
