About the Role
The President Hotel is seeking an experienced Hotel Maintenance Foreman (Assistant Maintenance Manager) to lead our maintenance team in ensuring operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations, executing tasks efficiently, safely, and in line with hotel operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign daily maintenance tasks and conduct team briefings
- Monitor technician performance and ensure adherence to hotel operational standards
- Manage attendance, conduct, and performance in line with company policy
- Mentor junior staff and support ongoing skills development
- Guide technicians in diagnosing and resolving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to hotel quality standards
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules and manage reactive maintenance tasks
- Conduct risk assessments and manage incident reporting
- Maintain safe working practices with minimal disruption to guests
- Oversee maintenance inventory, tools, equipment, and consumables
- Coordinate procurement requirements with the Chief Engineer
- Liaise with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments to coordinate maintenance access
- Ensure accurate handover logs, daily reports, and compliance documentation
Requirements
- Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing (Red Seal preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in commercial building maintenance or hotel maintenance
- Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory or foreman role
- Experience within a hotel, luxury property, hospital, or large commercial facility environment
- Strong technical knowledge across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems
- Experience using CMMS systems (OMNI, INFOR, HotSOS or similar)
