About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeper/Therapist to join our luxury boutique lodge in the Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, South Africa. As part of our dynamic management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting the overall operations of the lodge.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver beautifully presented, consistently well-maintained guest rooms.
- Perform daily servicing, turn downs, deep cleans, and departure cleans to a high standard.
- Maintain room amenities, linen presentation, and overall guest comfort.
- Report maintenance issues promptly to keep rooms in excellent condition.
- Respond to guest requests promptly and professionally.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all shared guest spaces (lounges, dining areas, walkways, office, etc.).
- Support the wider team in preparing the lodge for arrivals, activities, and daily service.
- Support daily laundry tasks, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and linen rotation.
- Ensure guest linen is clean, fresh, and well presented.
- Monitor laundry supplies and report low stock when needed.
- Provide professional spa treatments as scheduled, ensuring a calm, relaxing experience for guests.
- Maintain spa equipment, cleanliness, and treatment space readiness.
- Assist with treatment bookings and communicating availability to the Operations Manager.
- Promote spa services and products to increase sales.
- Assist FOH or Butler teams during busy periods or unexpected situations to protect the guest experience.
- Support with simple service tasks such as clearing, resetting, or assisting during meal times when required.
- Maintain a positive, guest-focused attitude when stepping into support roles.
- Assist with basic administrative tasks such as communication, simple record keeping, and stock checks.
Requirements
- Relevant housekeeping experience at a commercial property – min. 10 beds.
- Relevant spa therapy experience.
- Basic computer literacy and administration skills.
- Ability to work in a remote environment.
- Good physical stamina and strong attention to detail.
- Understanding or speaking of the Afrikaans language.
- Recognised/formal spa therapy qualification.

Salary & Benefits
Gross monthly salary, approx. R7,000.00 (negotiable). Plus commission based on strong sales and high volume therapies increase monthly remuneration. Plus gratuities – participation in the shared tip pool. Lunch and dinner provided during rostered on duty period. Private bedroom in staff housing, with communal bathroom and kitchen facilities. Water and electricity included. Uniform provided, excluding footwear. Self-service laundry facilities available 6 days off per calendar month (may change according to operational needs). 15 days leave days per annum.
Important Notes
- Must have access to Whatsapp video / Zoom / Microsoft Teams for initial interviews.
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person interview at the property.
- Must be willing to potentially complete a personality and character assessment during the interview process.
- Must be willing to potentially undergo a criminal record check and polygraph examination prior to final appointment.
- Only South African citizens or applicants with full valid work permits may apply (not ZEP).
