Key Responsibilities: Posting and reconciliation of debtors, creditors, wages, inventory, and monthly journals Processing wage data (clocking/allocations/etc.) Preparing and loading electronic payments Supporting the finance department with additional duties as required Requirements: Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification (degree/diploma) 35 years experience in bookkeeping Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and accounting software Attention to detail and accuracy Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Advantageous: Experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP or similar Familiarity with Crest or Farm Costing software Background in the agricultural/farming sector Kickstart your career in a fast-paced, rewarding environment!

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-focused and professional Junior Bookkeeper to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting a range of accounting functions. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in bookkeeping and develop your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients using cloud-based systems (Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks)
  • Capture and reconcile all financial transactions
  • Process invoices, supplier payments, receipts, and bank reconciliations
  • Process monthly payroll and ensure compliance with PAYE, UIF, EMP201 & EMP501 submissions
  • Assist with personal and company income tax submissions
  • Assist with VAT submissions and general ledger maintenance
  • Support the preparation of management accounts and financial statements
  • Liaise professionally with clients and resolve queries promptly

Requirements

  • Qualification in Accounting or Finance (or currently studying towards one)
  • 23 years experience in bookkeeping (firm environment an advantage)
  • Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks)
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, VAT, and payroll processes
  • Excellent numerical, organizational, and administrative skills

Qualifications

  • Completed qualification in Accounting or Finance

Salary & Benefits

R15 000 R18 000 monthly (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day operations of our business. With experience in debtors/creditors and proficiency in Excel, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Update customer and supplier details
  • Process customer and supplier invoices
  • Import monthly branch files and sales summaries into Excel
  • Prepare and post basic month-end journals
  • Prepare debit order lists
  • Perform supplier and debtor age analysis checks
  • Handle supplier payments
  • Reconcile Deposita cash, credit cards, petty cash, and expense claims
  • Assist with ledger reconciliations and resolve outstanding queries
  • Help with general accounting tasks as needed

Requirements

  • Matric with 2 years experience in debtors/creditors
  • Experience with Syspro or similar system is an advantage
  • Good understanding of VAT and basic accounting principles
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Good communication skills
