Job Description

Our prestige client specialises in managing network connectivity for corporate clients with mobile workforces and telemetry needs and are urgently seeking a Linux System Administrator to join their dynamic team. They provide reliable, innovative solutions, including user authentication, network policy authorisation, and detailed usage reporting. Their services ensure seamless connectivity and robust support, adhering to industry standards and best practices.

The incumbent will install, configure, and maintain Linux OS, service software, applications, and configurations in a SaaS Cloud environment.

Responsibilities:

Managing system access, software licenses, user accounts, ensuring security, and optimising performance.
Set up and maintain network services, troubleshoot issues, automate tasks through scripting, and document configurations and procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Expertise will be crucial for maintaining IT infrastructure integrity and service delivery at the Client
Resource utilisation: Optimise CPU, memory and storage usage.
System uptime: Ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
Incident response: Quickly address and resolve systems issues within the contractual SLA timelines.
Backup management: Maintain and ensure reliable and timely system backups.
Patch management: Document and apply updates and patches promptly and effectively.
Efficiency through automation: Increase automation to standardise deployments and reduce manual tasks.
Maintained scalability: Scale systems to meet growing demands without performance loss.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate system documentation and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
Self-Development: Continuously improve personal skills and knowledge through training, certifications, and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree related field.
Advantageous: RedHat (RHCSA)/ CompTIA Linux+ certification.
Advantageous: ITIL training/ certifications.
Advantageous: SaaS & Cloud environment training/ certifications.

The Reference Number for this position is LJ60513 which is a Perm – Hybrid position based in Randburg offering a cost to company salary of up to R460K per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
