About the Role

Safari JOBS is recruiting for a Property Reservations Executive opportunity within a world-class, luxury safari setting. This role offers the rare chance to become part of an iconic operation with a strong international guest base and a high standard of service. Although the property is closed until December for a major refurbishment, the reservations team continues to operate behind the scenes. This vacancy is therefore available immediately, offering a rare chance to step into the role now, build momentum ahead of reopening, and play a key part in driving strong booking performance from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Logging and responding to enquiries by phone and e-mail, making reservations in accordance with agreed turnaround guidelines.
• Providing accurate and relevant information about room options, availability, packages and specials.
• Checking availability of accommodation on the guests desired travel dates.
• Ensuring reservations are handled in accordance with company minimum standards for turnaround/confirmation and follow-up.
• Following up on provisional reservations.
• Issuing invoices, processing payments and sending confirmation details to guests.
• Booking Federal Air flights and road transfers for guests as required.
• Sorting out any issues that may arise with reservations.
• Providing support to guests who may need to amend or cancel a reservation.
• Collaborating with lodge operations to resolve booking issues, such as cancellations, delays, or overbookings.
• Ensuring all guest requests such as booking excursions, treatments etc. are actioned and accurately detailed.
• Ensuring guest satisfaction by addressing guest concerns, feedback, and special requests.
• Updating and maintaining client database.
• Creating and updating guest profiles for identified VIP & repeat clients.
• Maintaining an excellent rapport with guests and greeting guests on arrival at the property.
• Hosting site visits for the trade and special function stays.

Requirements

• Clear criminal record;
• Excellent employment track record;
• References will be verified;
• Excellent English fluency (written & verbal);
• Minimum 3 years experience within a similar appointment;
• Specific reservations experience in the safari lodge industry;
• Excellent interpersonal skills;
• Excellent computer skills and sound knowledge of reservations systems;
• Excellent financial awareness.

Salary & Benefits

• Basic salary (NEG. DOE and qualifications) PLUS:
• Share of gratuities left by guests*;
• 1% of company revenue gratuity*;
• 20 bed nights for family and friends annually at an exceptionally reduced rate*;

• Food allowance of R2,514.00 in addition to the salary;

Note: *Will come into effect upon re-opening of the property in 2027. **Applicable / compulsory after successful 3 month probation period.
