About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer and member of an international Product Development Team, you will work on advanced industrial propulsion and motion systems used in large-scale engineering applications. You will take ownership of design tasks early in your role, engineering parts, assemblies, and system arrangements from concept phase through to manufacturing-ready solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and system layouts from concept to production.
- Conducting engineering analyses, calculations, and 3D modeling to ensure robust and efficient designs.
- Ensuring all mechanical designs comply with relevant specifications, standards, and certification requirements.
- Working with multidisciplinary project teams to align design intent, resolve technical challenges, and support integration into larger systems.
- Performing feasibility studies and validating design decisions through analytical methods and simulations.
- Updating and optimizing existing designs to implement improvements and support product evolution.
- Presenting technical findings and design documentation to internal teams and project stakeholders.
- Contributing to the development and refinement of internal engineering processes, guidelines, and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience in mechanical product development, or strong motivation to grow in this area.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred, but other professional CAD tools are suitable).
- Experience generating technical drawings and understanding manufacturing processes.
- Strong grasp of mechanical design principles, materials, and production methods.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) practices.
