About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Passenger Vehicle Service Foreman to join our team in Gaborone, Botswana. As a key member of our workshop operations, you will be responsible for managing daily activities, supervising technicians, and ensuring efficient allocation of jobs. You will also provide advanced technical guidance, liaise with OEM representatives, and lead a team of technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workshop activities and ensure efficient allocation of jobs to technicians
- Manage workflow, diagnose delays, and ensure all repair and service work is completed on time
- Oversee quality control on all completed jobs and ensure adherence to OEM standards
- Authorise job cards, parts requirements, and technical decisions where needed
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and workshop policies
- Provide advanced technical guidance and diagnostic support to technicians
- Assist with complex repairs, fault-finding, and ensuring best-practice procedures
- Liaise with OEM technical representatives for support and warranty queries
- Lead, guide, and mentor technicians and apprentices
- Conduct performance monitoring, coaching and skills development
- Ensure discipline, professionalism, and productivity within the team
- Assist the service advisor team with technical explanations for customers
- Handle escalated customer queries or quality concerns
- Ensure customers receive accurate repair information and excellent service
- Monitor job progress, workshop utilisation, and productivity metrics
- Review, sign off and ensure accuracy of job cards, clocking, and labour allocation
- Assist the Service Manager with reporting, warranty processes, and technical documentation
Requirements
- Qualified Motor Mechanic / Technician (Passenger Vehicles)
- 5+ years technical experience, with 2+ years in a foreman or senior technician role
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working in a franchised passenger vehicle dealership
- Ability to supervise a team and manage workshop operations
- Valid driver’s licence
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
