The client has a focus on Autism and individuals with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
Age groups are as follows:
Primary: 7 years to 11 years old /Secondary: 12 years to 15 years old / FET: 16 years to 25 years old

Requirements

  • !!! Experience with working with pupils with LSEN & Special needs students – non negotiable!!
  • Primary/secondary teaching experience (3 years plus)
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Education that will need to go through the The UK National Agency for International Qualifications and Skills so as to get a Statement of Comparatibility (approx R 1300 – payable by candidiate)
  • A medical clearance is required for entrance into the UK on a visa (payable by candidate)
  • You need to pass an English competency test (payable by candidate)

    UK teachers are required to undergo a comprehensive criminal check. Under the 1974 Rehabilitation Act, DBS checks are necessary for all frontline roles in the UK. Those in the closest contact with children or vulnerable adults are subject to the most stringent checks.

Package

  • Paid as per British teacher salary scales. Salaries dependent on the UK QTS status
  • Flights and accomodation will be covered by you, the candidate
  • Visa Costs covered by the client
  • 2 year contract, renewable

Main purpose

The teacher will:

  • Fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document
  • Meet the expectations set out in the Teachers Standards

Duties and responsibilities

Teaching

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the schools curriculum and schemes of work
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
  • Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
  • Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
  • Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
  • Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests

Whole-school organisation, strategy and development

  • Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the schools policies, practices and procedures, so as to support the schools values and vision
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
  • Work with others on curriculum and pupil development to secure co-ordinated outcomes
  • Provide cover, in the unforeseen circumstance that another teacher is unable to teach

Health, safety and discipline

  • Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils
  • Maintain good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment
  • Be vigilant in maintaining health and safety within the classroom and school environment.

  • Fulfil all duties in relationship to area of responsibility/leadership

Safeguarding

Skills and knowledge

  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum preferred
  • AQA/ASDAN/BTEC/GCSE Courses prefeered
  • Knowledge of teaching entry level English and Maths along with one or more of the following subjects: Modern Foreign Languages, Music, P.E, Geography, Science, Art, Design and Technology, IT and History
  • Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
  • A good understanding of how children learn
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils needs
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
  • Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
  • Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning
