About the Role
We are seeking a detail-driven Procurement & Stores Officer to join our brand new luxury five-star lodge in KwaZulu-Natal. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing sourcing, purchasing, supplier negotiations, and full inventory control to ensure smooth operations, cost control, and compliance with HACCP and South African regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing and purchasing activities to meet the lodge’s needs
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best prices and quality
- Implement and maintain accurate stock control systems, including FIFO/FEFO management
- Monitor budgets and report on expenditure to ensure cost control
- Utilize procurement systems knowledge to optimize processes
- Collaborate with departments (kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance & finance) to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Strong supplier negotiation skills
- Experience in stock control and inventory management
- Budget monitoring and reporting experience
- Knowledge of procurement systems
- Luxury lodge experience preferred
Qualifications
- Formal education and/or relevant certifications (e.g. CIPS, APSCo)
Salary & Benefits
