Job Description
Overall Purpose of the Position:
The Project Supervisor supports the delivery of TradeOns development projects (including remodels, new builds and relocations) by executing and coordinating on?site activities, supervising contractors, monitoring progress, ensuring health and safety compliance, and maintaining project quality and documentation throughout the build process. The role focuses on the operational execution of project tasks on site and provides the necessary technical, coordination and reporting support required to keep projects on schedule, compliant and aligned to approved plans.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Project Planning & Approvals
Reviewing all project drawings and specifications with the Project Manager (PM) before site start
Verifying that all required services (electrical, plumbing & drainage, fire protection, HVAC & refrigeration) are coordinated and approved, ensuring that the pre?start checklist is fully completed.
Assisting the PM by providing accurate programme inputs (such as activity durations and sequencing constraints) and supporting the upkeep of an updated look ahead schedule that reflects actual site conditions
Scope of Works & Contractor Management
Preparing and maintaining detailed Scope of Works (SOW) for all contractors, ensuring full alignment with approved drawings, specifications, and brand standards.
Confirming that all contractor quotations match the SOW quantities and relevant drawings, verifying stock availability with suppliers, and submitting accurate inputs for the project budget.
Coordinating all on?site contractors by sequencing works, confirming delivery dates, preventing trade clashes, and ensuring appropriate storage, waste management, and safe segregation where required.
Site Supervision & Quality Control
Conducting daily site walk?throughs to assess workmanship, safety, progress, and compliance with approved drawings and brand standards; maintaining a daily diary supported by photo documentation.
Confirming order accuracy and site readiness before work begins, including hard?copy drawings on site, accommodation arrangements (when applicable), and updated H&S documentation.
Managing defects through a live snag list, assigning responsibilities and ensuring snags are resolved before progressing to subsequent phases.
Project Progress & Reporting
Tracking daily and weekly progress against the approved programme, updating activity completion status and keeping the look?ahead schedule current.
Logging delays, issues, and risks with clear cause?and?impact notes and escalating promptly to the PM.
Coordinating and booking all consultant and local authority inspections, preparing necessary documentation and recording inspection outcomes accurately in the project file
Handover & Close?Out
Completing all snags prior to Practical Completion and conducting a joint walk?through to verify closure; providing training to store staff and Area Coach on system operations where required.
Collecting and filing all legally required compliance documentation and statutory approvals for project handover, ensuring that all mandatory certificates, permissions, and regulatory documents are complete and correctly archived.
Compiling the completing close?out pack, ensuring all soft copies are saved to the shared drive and all original documents are properly filed.
Assisting Finance with final invoice reconciliation, budget variance review, and payment processing, ensuring all financial documentation is completed within agreed timelines.
Other Requirements
Performing ad?hoc duties to support activities at the RSC and on project sites, as needed.
Ideal Requirements
Essential: Matric (Grade 12) required with 35 years experience in site supervision or project coordination for remodels and/or new build projects
Advantageous: Qualification in Construction Management/Building/Civil Engineering (or related) and/or industry certification (e.g., site supervision/H&S/fit?out)
Experience in fast?track environments, ideally within retail, QSR, or other commercial fit?outs
Ability to work effectively with multiple contractors, consultants, and service providers across different project phases.
Working knowledge of on?site safety requirements under the OHS Act
Proficiency with project tools, including MS Project (or equivalent scheduling tools), MS Excel and digital site?reporting platforms for photos, logs, and documentation.
Valid drivers licence and ability to travel nationally and work at different locations for extended periods

Working conditions
Working on active construction sites, including exposure to dust, noise, varying weather conditions, working at different heights and physical activities such as standing, climbing, and walking for extended periods.
Adherence to OHS Act Construction Regulations, including mandatory PPE, toolbox talks, and complying with site?specific health and safety procedures
Working in live?trading restaurant environments, requiring strict segregation, safe access planning, and minimal disruption to operations.
