Role Purpose
The Proposals Engineer plays a critical role within the New Business department by developing and managing high-quality technical and commercial proposals. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and commercial awareness to deliver competitive proposals that support the company’s growth objectives and meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Proposal Development
• Analyse tender packages, technical requirements, and client specifications
• Prepare end-to-end proposal execution plans
• Work with engineering teams to generate technical designs, costings, and schedules
• Ensure proposals meet all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards
Stakeholder Engagement
• Act as the main point of contact for proposal-related queries
• Engage suppliers and subcontractors for competitive pricing and technical input
• Present proposals to clients and address technical or commercial questions
Strategy & Reporting
• Support market research and competitor analysis
• Contribute to pricing strategy to enhance market competitiveness
• Maintain accurate proposal records and prepare performance reports
• Update the project pipeline based on market intelligence and BD leads
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or related)
• ECSA Professional Registration is an advantage
• 5+ years’ experience in proposals engineering, ideally within the water industry
• Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals for EPC projects
• Training or certification in proposal management methodologies (e.g., APMP) is beneficial.
