About the Role
The role of Receivable Accounts is integral to the financial operations within the travel, leisure, tourism and hospitality sectors. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, maintaining customer account records, and supporting financial reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and issue invoices to clients promptly and accurately in accordance with agreed terms.
- Monitor outstanding accounts to ensure timely payment and follow up on overdue invoices professionally.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies or billing disputes efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, payments and adjustments in the accounts receivable ledger.
- Prepare regular reports on receivables status for management review.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to address client queries related to billing and payments.
- Apply cash receipts to customer accounts and ensure correct allocation of payments.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities as they relate to receivables.
Requirements
- A recognised qualification in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working within accounts receivable or a similar financial role.
- Education: A minimum of a National Senior Certificate or equivalent school leaving qualification.
- Further education such as a diploma or degree in accounting, finance or business administration is highly advantageous.
