Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Asterisk Architect and VoIP Infrastructure Expert with over 15 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade telephony systems. The ideal candidate will have led the deployment of Asterisk-based PBX systems for contact centers exceeding 1,000 seats, with proven expertise in scalability, redundancy, performance tuning, and integrations with CRM, Dialers, and AI-based tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Architecture:
Architect and design high-availability, scalable, and secure Asterisk VoIP systems supporting 1,000+ concurrent agents across multiple geographies. - Deployment & Configuration:
Lead deployment and configuration of Asterisk (and related modules like FreePBX, Vicidial, etc.), ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. - System Integration:
Integrate Asterisk with third-party systems such as CRMs, ERP platforms, Dialers, Speech Analytics engines, and AI-based Agent Assist tools. - Monitoring & Optimization:
Implement real-time monitoring, logging, call quality assessment, and performance optimization strategies. - SLA Management:
Ensure system uptime meets 99.99% availability with built-in failover, disaster recovery, and load balancing capabilities. - Security & Compliance:
Implement strong security protocols (SIP TLS, SRTP, firewalls) and ensure compliance with regional telecom and data protection regulations. - Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead a team of VoIP engineers and provide training, SOPs, and escalation handling support. - Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, system diagrams, change logs, and capacity planning reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in VoIP systems, with at least 10 years dedicated to Asterisk.
- Experience in setting up and managing enterprise-scale environments (1000+ seats).
- Deep understanding of SIP protocols, RTP, IAX2, dial plan scripting, AGI, AMI, and IVR design.
- Strong knowledge of Linux (CentOS/Ubuntu), MySQL/PostgreSQL, and network administration.
- Familiarity with load balancing, HAProxy, Kamailio/OpenSIPS, and clustering.
- Proficiency in integrating telephony with REST APIs, CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with voice recording, call monitoring, reporting dashboards, and QoS metrics.
- Exposure to contact center workflows, predictive dialers, blended campaigns, and CTI connectors.
- Certifications in VoIP, Linux, or related technologies (optional but preferred).
