Job Description

Senior Field Guide | Luxury Safari Lodge | Greater Kruger

Salary: Negotiable DOE
Live-in Position

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Field Guide for a luxury safari lodge in the Greater Kruger area. This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable guide to lead game drives, share expertise with guests, and support a high-standard safari experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, educational, and engaging game drives, mentoring junior guides, and ensuring guests receive an exceptional safari experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead morning and afternoon game drives, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction
Share expert knowledge on wildlife, ecology, and conservation practices
Mentor and support junior field guides in skill development and operational standards
Maintain vehicles, equipment, and ensure all safety protocols are followed
Assist in planning daily safari operations and guest experiences
Ensure high levels of guest interaction and engagement during drives
Monitor and report on wildlife sightings, environmental changes, and lodge operations
Collaborate with lodge management and other departments to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

FGASA Professional Field Guide qualification or higher (required)
Proven experience as a field guide within a luxury safari lodge or reserve
Strong knowledge of wildlife, bushveld ecology, and conservation principles
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills
Leadership experience and ability to mentor junior staff
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational environments
Reliable, proactive, and passionate about delivering exceptional safari experiences
Available to work on a 3/1 week cycle
Immediate availability preferred, ideally from 1 April
