About the Role
Zeebra Junction Specialist Recruitment is seeking an experienced Factory Manager/Works Manager to oversee its very large sugar complex on one of the Largest Sugar Estates/Factory Plants in Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the sugar factory, warehousing processes, and safety protocols according to existing guidelines and procedures in order to comply with the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Sugar factory, warehousing processes, and safety protocols according to existing guidelines and procedures.
- Day-to-day operations of the Sugar complex.
- Supervise the production process (including mill operation) in order to comply with the production requirements.
- Supervise the factory maintenance plan in order to prevent operations disruption.
- Control and analyze KPIs and reports for decision making.
- Propose and supervise process improvements as needed in the Factory to improve operational efficiency.
- Supervise work safety plans in order to comply with company procedures and government regulations.
- Supervise the Human Talent under supervision responsibility to support ensure talent growth.
- Establish annual targets for factory operations and achieving them.
- Budgeting both revenue, and capital expenditure, and monitoring periodically the performance of various sections. Reporting the deviation to the management and the course corrections action is taken.
- Preparation and timely submission of Reports Executive Management.
- Planning and managing sugar complex preventive/predictive maintenance activities to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Improved productivity by bringing in world-class manufacturing practices.
- Liaise and coordinate with section/department heads for the smooth running of the factory.
- Dealing with union representatives for employee/administrative matters.
- Maintaining workplace discipline and training of local staff.
- Co-ordinate with the projects team for project expansion/construction works.
Requirements
- Experience as a General Manager Sugar Manufacturing Plant and sub departments.
- Experience as a Factory Manager/Works manager Sugar manufacturing plant.
- Experience as a Process/Production Manager.
- Engineering Manager preferable Mechanical engineering/Chemical Engineering.
- Milling experience.
- Boilers management experience.
- Distilling management experience.
- Experience of co-generation.
- Power generation experience.
- Candidate will be reporting in to the GM/Business Head.
Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering graduate (or Similar) / a sugar technologist, with a minimum of +/- 20 years of similar experience in a sugar manufacturing unit.
