About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Inbound Consultant to join our Premier Inbound DMC based in Kloof, Durban. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the luxury safari industry in South Africa and Africa, with extensive knowledge of 5-star properties in these regions, including Seychelles and Mozambique. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the reservations process, from initial client requests to final travel documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of the reservations process
  • Quote, book, invoice, check payment, request payment, prepare and send out final travel documents
  • Acknowledge quote and/or booking requests on the day of receipt
  • Plan itinerary with careful consideration and thought
  • Offer two or three suggested itineraries and clearly explain the thought process behind each
  • Follow up on provisional bookings and confirm or release them prior to being chased by suppliers
  • Check special requests have been actioned and acknowledged by suppliers
  • Send out deposit invoices, check a deposit has been received, and forward to suppliers if necessary
  • Assist with rate, invoice, and credit note queries in the Accounts Department
  • Advise on child and cancellation policies
  • Check full payment has been received prior to sending out travel documents
  • Contact clients at least once during their time on the ground
  • Act as emergency contact person for clients whilst they are traveling
  • Attend supplier presentations and in-house training sessions

Requirements

  • Matric certificate
  • Tertiary certificate in Travel & Tourism / Hospitality
  • At least 4-5 years’ experience in the Inbound Travel market
  • Senior experience in handling customer relationships and developing/promoting product and building journeys in the inbound travel industry
  • In-depth knowledge of South Africa & Africa, including Mozambique, Mauritius, and Seychelles
  • Personal or educational travel experience
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
  • Working knowledge of TourPlan or similar booking/operating system
  • Excellent attention to detail, dynamic, creative, organised, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve and maintain high quality output
  • Strong financial skills, self-starter with high integrity level and ethical conduct
