Duties and Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end technical responsibility for high-voltage substation projects from design through to commissioning
- Coordinate primary and secondary engineering activities across multidisciplinary project teams
- Act as technical lead within complex HV projects, ensuring alignment between design, construction, and commissioning
- Manage technical planning, progress tracking, risk identification, and mitigation activities
- Support project budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning in collaboration with project management
- Interface with TSOs, grid operators, industrial clients, and other key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, safety requirements, and quality systems
- Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout all project phases
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering
- Extensive experience on high-voltage projects within the 110–380 kV range
- Strong background in both primary and secondary high-voltage engineering
- Proven experience acting as technical lead on complex engineering projects
- Experience with project planning, budgeting, progress tracking, and risk management
- Hands-on experience working with TSOs, grid operators, or industrial clients
- Structured, analytical, safety- and quality-focused mindset
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans, with willingness to learn Dutch
- Preferably experience with an EPC or contractor that both engineers and constructs high-voltage substations
