About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join our team at Flink Recruitment, working with TMM equipment in a mining environment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing planned maintenance, inspections, and servicing of TMM equipment, as well as conducting mechanical repairs and troubleshooting faults.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned maintenance, inspections, and servicing of TMM equipment (e.g., LHDs, dump trucks, drill rigs, bolters).
- Conduct mechanical repairs, component replacements, and equipment overhauls.
- Diagnose faults and perform effective troubleshooting to minimise downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety standards, OEM specifications, and company procedures.
- Complete job cards, maintenance reports, and inspection checklists accurately.
- Identify potential failures and implement preventative maintenance actions.
- Work closely with supervisors and operators to ensure equipment availability.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Adhere to PPE requirements and safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Trade Certificate as a Fitter / Fitter & Turner.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working on TMM equipment in a mining environment.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Medically fit for underground or mining conditions.
- Valid driver’s license (advantageous).
