About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Workshop Foreman to lead our automotive and diesel workshop team in South Africa. With a minimum of 58 years of experience as a diesel mechanic and trade test certification, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day workshop activities and staff. Your proven track record of working on FAW, Volvo, FAD, and MAN vehicles, combined with your supervisory and foreman experience, makes you an ideal candidate for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day workshop activities and staff.
- Allocate jobs to mechanics and ensure work is completed efficiently and on time.
- Perform and oversee diagnostics, repairs, and servicing of diesel vehicles.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior mechanics.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work before vehicle release.
- Manage breakdowns and urgent repair requests.
- Liaise with the parts department to ensure the availability of spares.
Requirements
- Trade Test as a Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal preferred).
- Minimum 58 years experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Proven experience working on FAW, Volvo, FAD, and MAN vehicles.
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience in a workshop environment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Sound knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Valid driver’s licence (Code 10/14 with PDP advantageous).
Qualifications
- Trade Test as a Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal preferred).
- Diploma or equivalent in diesel mechanics.
Salary & Benefits
