Position Overview: The Project Engineer will play a key role in the planning, execution, and delivery of energy projects, ensuring that all technical, safety, and environmental standards are met. This role requires a strong engineering background, hands-on project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions within schedule and budget. Key Responsibilities Plan, design, and oversee the engineering aspects of energy-related projects (renewable, electrical, mechanical, or hybrid systems). Prepare and review project proposals, technical drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards. Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and handover phases. Manage documentation, including project reports, progress updates, and change control. Identify technical risks and propose mitigation measures. Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements, including local and international energy standards. Support procurement processes by evaluating technical submissions and vendor capabilities. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and project optimization. Qualifications and Experience Bachelors degree in electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Energy Engineering (or related field). Minimum of 35 years experience in project engineering within the energy, power generation, or renewable energy sectors. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project management practices, and energy systems (solar, wind, thermal, etc.). Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD tools. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., SANS, IEC, ISO, NERSA, or similar). Experience working with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) or turnkey projects is advantageous. Professional registration (ECSA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
