Assistant Accountant
Report to: Accountant
Seniority Level: 2-5 years
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, focus on debtors and creditors management
- Support day-to-day financial operations, ensure compliance
- Act as right-hand assistant to Accountant, assist with reporting, reconciliations, audits
Key Responsibilities:
Debtors Management
- Manage debtors ledger, issue customer invoices/statements
- Follow up on outstanding accounts, resolve queries
- Allocate payments, prepare age analysis reports
Creditors Management
- Process supplier invoices accurately
- Match invoices to POs, reconcile statements
- Prepare payment schedules, resolve queries
Bookkeeping & Accounting Support
- Capture financial transactions, perform bank reconciliations
- Support month-end procedures, assist with audits
Administrative Support
- Provide admin support for Accountant, maintain financial records
- Assist with OEM reporting, stock control admin
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma/Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance
- 2-3 years’ bookkeeping or finance experience
- Motor dealership experience preferred
- Proficiency in accounting systems, advanced MS Excel skills
Required Skills:
- Understanding of debtors/creditors processes
- Attention to detail, organizational skills
- Strong communication, ability to work under pressure
