About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Banqueting Head Chef to join our team at a luxury wine estate and hotel in Stellenbosch. As the lead culinary expert, you will be responsible for planning and executing high-end banquets, weddings, and corporate events that showcase our estate’s exceptional cuisine and hospitality. If you have a passion for fine dining, excellent leadership skills, and experience in managing large-scale events, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage banqueting menus and ensure seamless execution of culinary services
- Lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional food quality and presentation
- Source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory to minimize waste and optimize profitability
- Collaborate with the events team to tailor menus to specific client requirements and preferences
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene protocols
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Banqueting Head Chef or equivalent in a luxury hospitality setting
- Proven track record of managing large-scale events and banquets
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
Qualifications
- Formal education in Culinary Arts or related field (e.g., Bachelors degree)
