Temporary Financial Accounting Support

Location

Stellenbosch | Western Cape
On-site preferred | Hybrid arrangement possible after probation period

Contract Type

Fixed-term contract – half-day OR full-time
Start: As soon as possible
End: 30 June

Salary

Half-day R12 000 – R15 000pm

Full-time R22 000-R25 000pm

Dependent on experience, qualifications, and availability.

They are seeking temporary finance support during a busy reporting and operational period.

Job Description

We are recruiting a Temporary Financial Accounting Support professional to assist the Finance Manager and the finance team with day-to-day accounting and reporting activities.

This role is best suited to a hands-on finance professional who is highly proficient in Excel, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently within a team environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial data preparation.

This is a time-sensitive, fixed-term opportunity requiring someone who can add value immediately.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support to the Finance Manager and the finance team
Assist with month-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting support
Prepare, update, and maintain Excel-based schedules, trackers, and financial models
Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information
Support ad hoc finance and reporting requirements as needed
Maintain strong attention to detail and data integrity at all times

Qualifications & Experience

Accounting background (SAIPA or similar qualification advantageous)
Proven experience working within a finance or accounting team
Advanced Excel skills (non-negotiable)
Strong numerical and analytical ability
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
