Job Description
Our Belgian client is a rapidly growing European business operating in the mobility and public-space infrastructure sector. The company specialises in made-to-measure construction solutions, including bicycle parking systems, shelters, and related modular products.
As the business continues to scale internationally, it is expanding its carefully selected distributor network across Europe and beyond and is now recruiting for an International Business Development Manager based in South Africa.
What makes this role different
This is not a classic Sales Manager role. The focus is on activating and enabling distributorsprofessionalising the network, improving partner performance, and commercial excellence across the channel. You will report directly to the CEO.
The successful candidate will report directly to the CEO and play a key role in supporting international growth.
Key responsibilities
- Drive channel growth strategy and governance, including distributor business plans, sales targets, KPI tracking, and structured annual performance reviews
- Develop, activate, and support distributors through commercial guidance, training, forecasting, scalable product configurations, cross-selling opportunities, and support on complex quotations
- Identify growth opportunities across the distributor network and support expansion within existing and new markets
- Assist in resolving technical issues relating to drawings, components, installation, and product configuration
- Maintain strong financial and commercial discipline by protecting price positioning, managing margins and product mix, and ensuring effective CRM and KPI dashboard usage
Requirements
- Relevant commercial qualification, such as a BCom or similar degree
- At least 5 years experience in Business Development, Channel Management, Account Management, and/or technical B2B sales
- Industry experience within industrial, manufacturing, construction-related, or technical product environments
- Strong working proficiency in Afrikaans/Dutch and fluency in English
- An additional European language would be advantageous
Travel and practical requirements
- Willingness to travel internationally 2 to 3 times per year to visit distributors and European headquarters
- Valid passport required
