Job Description
In this role, you will analyze the client’s supply chain processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to optimize logistics operations. You will also provide expert advice on transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture relationships with both new and existing clients, including conducting regular visits.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with current transporters, clients, and truck drivers.
- Actively seek and identify new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients and transporters, understanding their needs and providing suitable solutions.
- Understand the running costs of vehicles to determine Cost Per Kilometre (CPK).
- Analyse commodity trends and adapt strategies to market fluctuations.
- Regularly track and analyse performance against targets and budgets, identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain established administrative procedures to ensure smooth operations.
- ETA Tracking and Communication: Follow up with transporters to determine the accurate Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of trucks. Communicate effectively with clients to keep them informed about the status of their cargo.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in Logistics or similar role
- Experience in Road Freight Logistics.
- Strong knowledge of logistics principles and best practices
- Experience in analyzing supply chain data and identifying areas for improvement
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service
- Proficiency in logistics software and tools
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to client sites when necessary
