Role 1: Trails Guide
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Lead multi-day walking safaris in a Big 5 environment
- Conduct advanced bush walks in accordance with reserve regulations and firearm protocols
- Deliver interpretive, conservation-focused experiences with strong ecological knowledge
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and risk management procedures
- Manage trails equipment, firearms, radios, and camp logistics
- Host guests throughout their stay, maintaining a high level of engagement and professionalism
- Assist with camp setup, breakdown, and operational logistics where required
Core Criteria:
- FGASA Field Guide qualification (NQF4 Level 2 preferred)
- FGASA Full Trails Guide qualification (essential)
- Valid PDP, First Aid certification, and rifle competency
- Proven experience in Big 5 walking safari environments
- Strong leadership presence and calm decision-making ability
- Passion for conservation and environmental education
Role 2: Hostess
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Welcome and host guests throughout their walking safari experience
- Oversee front-of-house operations, ensuring personalised and attentive service
- Manage reservations administration and guest communication where required
- Coordinate meal service, table setup, and camp presentation standards
- Conduct daily room/tent checks and maintain overall camp aesthetics
- Manage housekeeping and stock control
- Assist with logistics and guest transitions between main lodge and retreat
Core Criteria:
- Previous lodge or luxury hospitality experience essential
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication ability
- High attention to detail and presentation standards
- Comfortable working in a remote, low-footprint camp environment
- Service-driven, adaptable, and hands-on
