About the Role
Join a luxury boutique lodge in the Southwest Waterberg, Limpopo, as a seasoned Field Guide ahead of its 2026 reopening. Adjacent to Welgevonden Game Reserve, this property offers exclusive seven-night, fixed-stay safaris for international guests via a European agency, ensuring a predictable operational rhythm and elevated guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional Big 5 experiences and create memorable moments on and off the vehicle
- Provide warm, engaging, and entertaining hosting to guests
- Conduct game drives and lead activities with expertise and enthusiasm
- Maintain accurate records of guest interactions and feedback
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Requirements
- Fluent in Afrikaans; Dutch or Flemish (non-negotiable)
- FGASA Field Guide qualification
- CATHSSETA certificate
- NDT registration
- Valid Drivers Licence
- PDP
- First Aid
- 24 years guiding experience in a Big 5 reserve
Qualifications
- Strong Waterberg ecology knowledge (preferred)
Salary & Benefits
- Package salary: R10,000 per month
- DOE Tips: Guides retain direct individual gratuities (not part of shared pool)
- Meals: Lunch & dinner during rostered on-duty period
- Accommodation: Private bedroom in senior staff quarters (own bathroom & kitchenette) with utilities included and uniform provided (excluding footwear); self-service laundry
Work Cycle
- 6 days off per month
- 15 days annual leave
