About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in the Western Cape region. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate costing and financial analysis for our agricultural production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate costing for farming and packing operations
- Conduct cost analysis and reporting for agricultural and packhouse activities
- Monitor and analyse inventory variances, inefficiencies and wastage
- Perform product costing, inventory reporting and maintenance
- Oversee and maintain inventory management processes
- Work closely with production and finance teams to implement cost control improvements
- Support budgeting and financial planning
- Compile daily and weekly productivity reports
- Assist with implementation and rollout of new systems
- Provide general assistance to the Financial Manager
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in cost accounting or a similar role
- Experience in an agricultural production environment is advantageous
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with ERP and BOM experience
- Own reliable transport
Qualifications
- BCom Degree or Finance Qualification
