About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join our team at Communicate Finance in Cape Town. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing group consolidations, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements across multiple entities
- Compile and review group consolidated financial statements
- Manage group consolidations and consolidation journals
- Prepare and submit tax returns (IT14, provisional tax, VAT, withholding & dividend tax)
- Review trial balances and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Compile monthly management accounts and group reporting packs
- Process month-end and year-end journals and system closures
- Prepare annual budgets and ongoing forecasts
- Liaise with internal and external auditors across the group
- Develop and maintain group accounting policies and controls
Requirements
- Minimum 4 to 5 years relevant experience in finance or accounting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with group consolidations
Qualifications
- Finance-related qualification (e.g. BCom (Accounting), BCom (Finance), etc.)
