Job Summary
Key responsibilities / main job duties:
- Installing and configuring PC’s and software components to ensure usability
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Repairing or replacing damaged hardware
- Setting up employee profiles on PCs and network
- Server support and maintenance (both online and offline)
- Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers
- Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level
- Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware
- Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting
- Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues
- Will report directly to the IT Manager
- Conducting daily backup operations
- Managing technical documentation
- Setting up and maintaining printers
Candidate requirements:
Type of qualification:
- IT-related qualification
- A+, N+, MCSE certification
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS
- Network printer knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and day-to-day software
Years of experience required:
- 3-5 Years’ experience in a similar role with evidence of work in an environment with more than 20+ PC
Is the person required to have their own transport:
- Yes
Proficiency in certain applications/computer programmes:
- Microsoft Office
Sound knowledge of:
- Microsoft Server and Desktop software (essential)
- Linux OS (advantage)
Non-negotiable skills:
- IT fault finding
