Critical Criteria (Requirements)
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a Sous Chef role, preferably with a focus on events or banqueting in 4/5-star hotels or luxury resorts
- Proven experience in supervising kitchen teams and managing high-volume event operations
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene standards
- Culinary qualification or diploma advantageous
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- South African citizen with a valid ID

Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and preparing menus for events and banquets
- Supervise kitchen operations during events, ensuring timely and high-quality food production
- Manage and coach junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to SOPs and culinary standards
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control across all events
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations
- Collaborate with Events and F&B teams to ensure smooth coordination and service flow
- Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering of ingredients for events
- Support the continuous improvement of culinary techniques, workflows, and guest satisfaction
- Live and promote the hotel’s values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity
Package on Offer
- Basic salary (TBA)
- 50/50 contribution to Pension
